Yungu Digital (“we”) is an independent web design studio in New Zealand. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- When you fill in the free preview form: your business name, type of business, address or service area, opening hours, your name, your email or WeChat ID, and anything else you choose to tell us (menu, links, a website you like, messages). We also record your IP address and browser type with the form, to help stop spam.
- When you message us by email or WeChat: what you send us.
- When you become a customer: the details we need to build your website and bill you. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
- When you browse this website: anonymous statistics — which page and sections were viewed, screen width, language, the website you came from, and your country (worked out from your connection, without storing your IP address). We don't use cookies for this. Your browser keeps a random visit number only until you close the tab.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and design your free homepage preview.
- To build, host and look after your website, and to bill you.
- To understand how people use this website, so we can make it better.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use a few trusted services to run this website: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (email notifications) and our payment provider. Their servers may be outside New Zealand. We only share what each service needs to do its job, and we choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law. We'll also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Preview requests that don't become customers: deleted within 12 months.
- Customer information: kept while you're a customer, and afterwards only as long as we need to (for example, financial records that tax law requires us to keep for 7 years).
- Anonymous statistics: kept for up to 2 years.
Keeping it safe
Your information is sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a database that isn't open to the public. Only we can access it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll respond within 20 working days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
